SHOULD I GET A MAN A GIFT? I’M A BIT OLD FASHIONED, AND STILL THINK IT’S ALL IN HIS HANDS???

Dear Sit Along,

I think I am a bit old-fashioned , and I am not used to buying a gift for a man. Can you help me ease into this process of buying a gift for a man? I am unfamiliar with the current way of gifting a man, and I think I just need some words of encouragement.

Best,

Susan, 58 MA

RESPONSE:

Hi Betty,

Below are some great ideas that a woman can gift a man. I hope it helps!

1. Men love surprised as do women. A great gift would be something you can pull off on your own. 😉  Take a trip to Victoria’s Secret, and remind your man that even though your over 50, you still have a youthful drive for him.

HOW TO KNOW IF HE/SHE IS FLIRTING WITH YOU WHEN YOU’RE OVER FORTY? **PART 1: ***4 KEYS TO DETERMINE HE/SHE IS FLIRTING*

Dear SitAlong,

I’m over 50, and I find myself going out a lot at night because of my job, and the events we host. The thing is, I am married, and men still flirt with me. I am just wondering, how do you let a man know you are taken, without sounding rude? I want to continue talking, but at the same time, I need to remember I am a professional, and the more people I meet the better. However, some men don’t stop flirting even when I say I am married. They come on strong, which makes me feel uncomfortable.

3 Tips to Detecting Red Flags in Your Relationship

Dear SitAlong,

I think  and know I see red flags in my relationship, but for some reason I feel like I am ignoring them. I think I am just happy to be in a relationship, and I am deciding to ignore the red flags. I know this is bad, but I think I have lost the ability to detect red flags.

Red flags meaning bad signs that the partner you are seeing is beginning to show, but you do not want to admit they exist. I may be in denial.

Dear Sit Along,

My children are grown now, and I have just started dating again. I am now starting to date a little more because they are both in school, and I was wondering, what I should do when this relationship gets serious?

My kids are close to their father, but the truth is- I do like this man, it’s just hard talking to my kids about. I trust them more than any of my friends, but it’s difficult discussing issues on dating with them. Should I date?

DATING OVER FIFTY: HOW TO DATE WHEN YOU ARE OVER FIFTY?

DATING OVER FIFTY: HOW TO DATE WHEN YOU ARE OVER FIFTY?

Dear SitAlong Blog,

The hardest thing for me now that I am newly single, and Over 50 is firstly admitting that I am single, and secondly my fear of rejection because of my age.

Can you help me?

Best,

Arlene, 55 NH

Hi Arlene,

Being newly single can be very difficult no matter what age you are. Being over 50,  and single sometimes the hardest thing to do is  to admit your single. The first thing you really need to do is get out. If all your friends are married, and you do not have any single friends, make new ones. Male or female, find a place or gathering and join it.

In addition,I would recommend reading stories about people who have been through this experience. Read  stories on how people took their first step out once they became newly single. Reading other newly single men and women’ story’s;  are great motivators for single women and men to get back into the dating game AT ANY AGE.

Furthermore, I would also confront the issue you are having with age. Do not fear the age you have. You should look into the mirror, and say “Arlene, I am 55 years old, single, and living.” Say this line early in the morning, and you will see that not only will you confront your age, but you will also learn not to reject the age you are. Be confident with your age, once you are confident in your age, the fear of being rejected by someone younger, or even your age will vanish.

Remember, reading stories, and admitting to one self your age are great starters to entering the dating game at age fifty. So, for all the ladies out their who are single, and over fifty- own your age, and soon you will see fewer rejection and more invitations. 🙂

Until next time…  🙂
